Dewulf
Logistics at Olympic level!

This is what we did for this client
Our collaboration with Dewulf
Dewulf experienced significant growth, which brought them up against the limitations of a traditional, fragmented supply chain. Fluctuating stock levels, poor master data, and inefficient picking processes slowed down both production and deliveries to customers and dealers.
The initial contact with Logflow arose from a strategic question: the Dewulf family wondered whether their future growth could be accommodated at the Roeselare site. Logflow carried out a thorough analysis and provided a groundbreaking proposal that marked a turning point in the project. The solution? A master plan in which the new warehouse was located on the opposite side of the public road, connected to the existing production hall via a fixed, covered bridge. Thanks to a multi-storey design, an efficient interaction between storage and production could be established.
Based on this strategic long-term vision, we developed the entire warehouse concept. Our aim was to create an integrated logistics solution that both optimises the existing warehouse and delivers a future-oriented design for the expansion at the Roeselare site. In doing so, we took all logistical drivers into account, such as space utilisation, efficiency, flexibility, and service level.
We mapped out the logistics processes and material flows and determined the ideal picking and replenishment techniques per product group. The new warehouse concept supports both just-in-time supply to the assembly line and the global shipment of spare parts via Dewulf’s extensive dealer network. We also provided targeted advice on WMS control and IT choices. This resulted in a substantiated warehouse concept that Dewulf implemented as their Smart Logistics Centre.
The Smart Logistics Centre comprises several storage zones and is connected to the production hall on the opposite side of the street via a striking glass bridge. Moreover, the building is designed with scalability, ergonomics and sustainability in mind. Overhead cranes ensure back-friendly handling of heavy components, while heating, lighting, and connection to the local heating network contribute to a sustainable and pleasant working environment.
In addition to developing the warehouse concept, Logflow’s LEAN team was also deployed on the shop floor. They coached Dewulf’s operational teams in establishing a culture of continuous improvement.
Thanks to the integration of an optimised ERP system, intelligent WMS software, and visual picking using assembly kits, Dewulf successfully transitioned from a push to a pull approach. Deliveries are now just-in-time, stock levels are better aligned with demand, and assemblers can fully focus on their core tasks. At the same time, the Smart Logistic Centre ensures smooth and reliable shipments worldwide of spare parts to customers via the dealer network. In this way, Dewulf has succeeded in structurally raising both delivery reliability and customer satisfaction to a higher level.

What our client says
